Modem : Acronym for modulator demodulator. A modem converts data from a
computer to analog signal that can be transmitted through telephone lines or converts
the signals from telephone lines into a form, the computer can use. |
Modulation : The process,by which a characteristic of one signal is
varied in proportion to the information contained in another signal. |
Modulator : A transmitter circuit or device that varies the amplitude,
frequency, phase or other characteristic of a carrier signal in proportion to
the waveform of the modulating signal that contains useful information. |
Modulus : The maximum number of states in a counter sequence. |
Monostable: It means having only one stable state,e.g.,a multivibrator
characterised by one stable state. |
Mosaic : An assembly of mutually insulated electron emissive
particles which serves to convert the optical image into an electron. |
Multiplexing : It is an operation performed with digital logic
circuits called multiplexers. |
