Electrical Definitions
|
Code : It is a combination of binary digits that represents the information such as
letters,numbers or symbols. |
Comparater : It is a device which compares the values of two digital quantities
and produce an output depending on the relationship of the two quantities. |
Coaxial Cable : Aspecial type of cable suitable for use at high frequencies has one of its conductors completely
surrounded by the second one,in the form of a tube. |
Colour Code : A method of marking electronic parts, such as resistors, with information
for the user. The value, tolerance, voltage rating and any special characteristic of the
component may be indicated using coloured bands or dots painted on. |
Communication System : A system(computer) that acts as the interface between another
computer or terminal and a network or a computer controlling data flow in a network. |
Communication Satellite(COMSAT) : An artificial unmanned satellite in earth orbit that provides
high capacity communication link between widely separated locations on earth. |
Coupling Transformer : A transformer used to couple two circuits by means of its
mutual inductance. |
Croyotron : A normally resistive element which can be maintained at the threshold of superconductivity
by surrounding it with a strong magnetic field. |
Crystal Detector : A detector of electric waves used in radio-communication depending upon
the unidirectional conductivity of a contact between a crystal and another substance. |
CTL : Complementary transistor logic,a logic system using emitter coupled
circuits with a combination of PNP and NPN transistors. |
Cut-Off : The point at which the current flowing through an electronic
device is cut-off by the control electrode. |
Cut-Off Frequency : The frequency at which the attenuation of a passive
network changes from a small value to a much higher value. |
