Electrical Definitions
|
Centimetric Waves : Electro-magnetic waves of a wave-length between 0.1 and 0.01 metre. |
Charge Coupled Device : A charge-transfer device that consist of any array of MOS
capacitors suitably designed,so that they are coupled and therefore charges can be moved through the
semiconductor substrate in a controlled manner. |
Choke Joint : A method of joining section of transmission line or waveguide for
microwaves which prevents leakage and high ohmic losses by making the joint in form of a choke coupling. |
Chronotron : An electronic device that measures the time intervals between events. |
Circuit : A combination of electrical and/or electronic components connected
together in a specific configuration to perform a specified function is known as a circuit. |
Circuit Breaker : A device for making and breaking a circuit under normal or abnormal conditions,
but not frequently. |
Circuit Ringing : Low frequency oscillations setup in a radio receiver that are
heard as a resonant tone during reception of a pulse of RF energy. |
Class A Amplifier : A linear amplifier,in which the output current flows for
more than half but less than the whole of the input cycle. |
Class B Amplifier : Amplification by a valve,in which the grid bias is
sufficient to reduce the anode current to zero when no exciting grid voltage is present. |
Class C Amplifier : A nonlinear amplifier in which the output current flows for less than half
the input cycle. |
Class D Amplifier : An amplifier operation by means of pulsewidth modulation. |
CMOS : Complementary metal oxide semiconductor,an insulated gate field effect
digital logic unit using both P and N MOS devices. |
