Electrical Definitions

Distribution Networks : The connection between a subscriber and the local telephone exchange consists of wires in a telephone cable.

Doppler Effect : The change in the apparent frequency of a source of electromagnetic radiation when there is relative motion between the source and observer.

Doppler Frequency : The frequency shift between direct and reflected waves due to velocity of target obtained during moving target measurement in a radar system.

DOT Generator : A test generator used with a television receiver to adjust the convergence of the picture tube.

DOT Interlace Scanning : A method of scanning in which the picture elements are explored in a regular but non sequential order.

Drift : The deviation of the operating frequency of a crystal oscillator from its nominal value,generally owing to temperature variation.Drift normally occurs during warm up orwhen the device is nearly the end of its useful life.

Duplex : It is a process for bidirectional transmission of data along transmission line.
