Electrical Definitions
|
Wafer : A large single crystal of semiconductor material, usually silicon
that is used as the substrate during the manufacture of a number of chips. |
WAN (Wide Area Network) : Connecting of computers over longer distance
than in a single building, involving distance of kilometers rather than metres. |
Wandering : Change in apparent direction of received radio signals irrespective
of the adjustment of the transmitter or receiver. |
Wave Aerial : An aerial, usually supported only a few metre from the ground,
of a length equal to multiple of the wave length to be received,in which wave
reflection from the ends is prevented by resistances;giving high efficiency of
reception and considerable direction. |
Wave Analyzer : An instrument to analyse a complex wave form into its
fundamentals and harmonic components. |
Wave Guide Mixer: A microwave mixer that combines RF signal and LO signal
to produce IF. |
Wein Bridge: An AC bridge method of measuring dielectric loses in which
the capacitance to be tested and standard condenser from two arms and variable
resistances the other two. |
